Aston Martin Vantage S

The Aston Martin Vantage has been around since 2005, it is a two seat two door coupe and has a bonded aluminium structure, making it light yet very strong. The initial Vantage was powered by a 4.3 litre V8 engine which produced 380bhp, the 2008 onward models came with a 4.7 litre 420 bhp engine. This engine was loosely based on Jaguars AJ-V8 engine but was unique to Aston Martin; it featured a race style dry sump lubrication.

As the Vantage comes to age, Aston Martin have unveiled the new Vantage S, which has a host of new driver-focused features all designed to push the honed dynamics of the standard Vantage to a new benchmark level, boasted an Aston Martin dealer.

Aston Martin has re-tuned the 4.7 litre V8 engine and squeezed 430 bhp out of it, but the real party piece is the new ground-up developed Sportshift II transmission specifically designed for the Aston Martin Vantage S with seven short ratio gears to deliver the most engaging and intense driver involvement.

Dr. Ulrich Bez, CEO of Aston Martin said, “The Vantage S epitomises every attribute of the V8 Vantage and pushes the driver experience beyond what we have offered before. It combines dynamic exhilaration with all the charming finesse, beauty and practicality already associated with the Vantage range.”

The Vantage S has new dynamic revisions such as a quickened steering rack ratio and larger front brake disks. Other enhancements include; new springs and dampers, and wider rear wheels. A new dynamic stability control (DSC) system specifically tuned to the new Vantage S along with a new brake module providing features such as Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA) which provides assistance in emergency braking situations, and Hill Start Assist (HSA).
