Like many manufacturers Citroen have produced a crossover, the Citroen C Crosser went on sale in 2007. The Citroen C Crosser is produced by Mitsubishi Motors; the Peugeot based on the same platform is the Peugeot 4007.
The Citroen C Crosser is a 7 seater with occupants benefitting from the easily reconfigured second and third row of seats, which can be folded away quickly and effortlessly to provide a flat floor and vast load space.
The rear two seats can be completely hidden away under the floor, while the second row of seating, slides to offer greater leg room or boot space, features a 60:40 split/fold function that is operated via electric controls in the boot.
The C Crosser has the same 2.2 diesel engine as the C5 and C6, so a tried and tested diesel engine which is powerful and smooth. Though power has been reduced to 154bhp, pulling power is pumped up to 280lb ft.
Citroen decided to concentration on the cars on road abilities rather than off road, hence the Citroen C Crosser is not a “proper” off road vehicle.
The Citroen leans less than most compact 4x4s when you travel round a fast bend, and the steering is well weighted.
The Crosser starts at £24,345 for the 2.2 HDI VTR, the Exclusive model costs £27,120. Prices for the C Crosser as new can appear to be a little steep, but I have heard of people getting decent discounts when buying a Citroen C Crosser in Crawley.
